Brent Ray Barnhouse passed away unexpectedly. He was born May 4, 1954 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Herman and Loisine Ray Barnhouse.
He spent his pre-school years in McConnelsville, Ohio and then moved to New Lexington with his family where he spent the rest of his life.
He was an agent/salesman for Thompson Insurance for 23 years, retired on December 31, 2012. Prior to joining Thompson’s, he worked at the Junction City Prison, Higbee’s, Evans Reamer, The Ohio Land Title Company and was assistant recorder at the Perry County Courthouse. He was also a volunteer football coach for the New Lexington and Riverview High Schools.
A proud graduate of NLHS Class of 1972, he was a member of the 1970 NLHS State Championship Football Team. He attended the Ohio State University and was an ardent Buckeye fan. His first involvement with organized sports was as a member of Linton Lewis’ Seven Sons basketball team followed by several years in New Lex Little League. He had a brilliant knowledge of history of the MVL and New Lex sports. He was looking forward to serving as a member of the NLHS Hall of Fame Committee. He was a member of B.P.O.E. #509 of New Lexington.
Survived by his brother, Larry (Judy) Barnhouse of Hershey, PA. and his niece and nephew, Carol (Darrin) Dudzinski and Reeves (Greta) Barnhouse and four great nephews; brother-in-law, David (Helen) Feyh and nieces, Jennifer (Kevin) Kiener and Heather (Mike) Wilson and a great niece and three great nephews.
In addition to his parents, preceded in death by his twin brother, Kent (5/4/1954) and his wife, Mildred “Millie” Feyh Barnhouse in 2011
Calling Hours will be held 2-4pm & 6-8pm with Elks services at 7:45pm on Friday, December 9, 2016 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, December 10, 2016 at the funeral home with Reverend Richard Newlon officiating.
Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery, New Lexington, Ohio.
