Charles E. Shaner

Charles E. “Chuck” “Bud” Shaner, 90, of New Lexington, Ohio died at 8:05 am on Monday, June 12, 2017 at the Brookdale of Lancaster, Ohio.

Born, May 28, 1927 in Perry County, Ohio to the late Robert A. and Blanche Kinney Shaner.

Charles was a United States Army Air Force Veteran of WW II; attended Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church, Somerset; parts manager at the New Lexington Auto Wrecking for 37 years; loving father of 3 sons and husband to his wonderful wife of 70 years.

Survived by 2 sons, Robert D. (Cheryl) Shaner of Lancaster and Steven J. (Katherine) Shaner  of Powell; 3  granddaughters, Carey (Clark) Kebodeaux of Lexington, KY.,  Emma Shaner and Claire Shaner of Powell; 4  brothers, Gene Shaner and Ray Shaner, both of Texas, Albert  Shaner of  New Lexington and Dick (Lucy) Shaner of Thornville; 4 sisters, Betty (Lawrence) Dickerson of New Lexington, Blanche Shaner of Zanesville, Mona (Ernie) Givens and Donna (Dale) Ault both of New Lexington.

In addition to his parents, preceded in death by his wife, Wavalean R. Shaner on November 20, 2015; a son, Charles E. Shaner; 2 brothers, Robert and Lewis Shaner.

Calling hours will be from 4-8pm on Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the funeral home.

Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery with graveside military services by John Tague Post #188, American Legion, New Lexington, Ohio.
