Dorothy M. (Reed) Downs

Dorothy M. Downs, 79, of Corning, Ohio died at 8:02pm on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.

Born May 13, 1937 in Sayre, Ohio to the late Clair Wilson and Thelma Marie Ketcham Reed.

Dorothy was a cook for the Southern Local School District; member of Tatmans Gap Methodist Church; Carnation Chapter #167, O.E.S.; she loved hunting, fishing, sewing, cooking, traveling and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.

Survived by her husband of 61 years, James Downs of the home; 2 sons, James E. Downs of the home and Jerry W. (Kimberly) Downs of Logan; 3 grandchildren, Abigail and Michael Downs of Logan and Janet (Dustin) Householder of New Lexington; 1 great-grandchild, Wesson Householder; brothers and sisters, Beulah (Ray) Wiseman, Alva (Carol) Reed, Florence Cox, Martin (Linda) Reed and Doris (Bill) Wilson.

Calling hours will be held from 3-5pm & 6-8pm with Eastern Star services at 7:45pm on Sunday, April 23, 2017 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, April 24, 2017 at the funeral home with Reverend Dan Hinkle officiating.

Burial will follow in Community Gardens Cemetery, New Lexington, Ohio.
