Dorothy Elizabeth Rose, 89 of Shawnee, died peacefully at 5:35 PM, Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Genesis Morrison House Hospice following a brief illness. She was born September 26, 1925 in Hemlock, the daughter of Benjamin Barney Stickdorn and Florence Ollie (Shilling) Stickdorn.
Dorothy loved to bowl and in her younger years and enjoyed bowling in leagues. She was a faithful and dedicated member of The House of Prayer in Drakes where she loved to serve the Lord. She was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed and treasured the time she spent with her family.
Dorothy is survived by two daughters: Debbie Mount of Florida and Cathy Tubaugh of Lancaster; six grandchildren, twenty great grandchildren; one great great grandson; three brothers; two sisters and a host of special nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her beloved husband: Harold David Rose who died August 28, 2014 and 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
Friends may call from 2:00 to 4:00 & 6:00 to 8:00PM, Monday, June 29, 2015 at the Roberts Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington where funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Tuesday with Rev. Ron Hurst Officiating. Dorothy will be laid to rest next to her husband in New Lexington Cemetery.
