Esther L. (McGaughey) Poling

Esther L. Poling, 85, of New Lexington, Ohio died at 6:40am on Thursday, November 23, 2017 at Genesis-New Lexington Care Center, New Lexington, Ohio.

Born June 20, 1932 in Washington County, Pennsylvania to the late John and Leoma Noble McGaughey.

Esther was a retired secretary from New Lexington City Schools;  member of the First United Methodist Church of New Lexington and the Carey Mayer Circle of the church; she supplied many cookies and cakes to family, friends and students at New Lexington Schools; she was also known as the “Cookie Girl.”

Survived by her husband of 65 years, Eugene Poling of the home; children, Bob (Sherry) Poling, Don (Carol) Poling, Mike (Aldonna) Poling and Cindy (Tom) Russell; 25 grandkids and 19 great-grandkids; brother, John (Judy) McGaughey and a sister, Betty Tucker.

In addition to her parents, preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Adcock.

Calling hours will be held from 2-4pm & 6-8pm  on Monday, November 27, 2017  and from 10am-11am on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday at the funeral home with Reverend Richard Newlon officiating.

Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery, New Lexington, Ohio.
