Frederick D. Smith, 88, of Logan, Ohio died at 9:40 am on Friday, June 16, 2017 at the Hamden Nursing Home, Hamden, Ohio.
Born December 31, 1928 in Wayne County, Michigan to the late Frederick T. and Helen Hike Smith.
He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War; loved his Blue Grass and loved to fish.
Survived by his wife, Patricia Smith; 2 daughters, Mina Hammond (Mark Bender) and Mary Ann Smith (Jim Ellis) of New Lexington; grandchildren, Michael Hammond, Steve Hammond and Jacob Hammond; 2 great grandsons and 2 great granddaughters.
In addition to his parents, preceded in death by a grandson, Alex Hammond.
Graveside funeral service with military services by John Tague Post #188, American Legion of New Lexington will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at the Rehoboth Cemetery, State Route 345, New Lexington, Ohio.
