Janet L. (Barnard) Yelton

Janet L. Yelton, 60, of New Lexington, Ohio went home to be with the Lord at 11:50am on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 at her home.

Janet was born on June 28, 1955 to the late Betty Hobson Barnard in Augusta, Georgia.

She graduated from New Lexington High School in 1973; attended Ohio State School of Cosmetology and also graduated from Mid East Career Center, studying multi skilled tech. She retired from Cooper Standard Automotive in 2007.

She was a member of the Little Rock Creek Holiness Church in Bakersville, N.C. She always enjoyed sewing, quilting and cooking for her family.

Survived by her husband of 33 years, Steve Yelton, whom she married on July 3, 1982; daughter, Gloria (Zeb) Sharkey of Crooksville; one granddaughter who was the light of her life, Abby Sharkey of Crooksville; two brothers, Gary (Rita) Barnard and Larry (Marlene) Barnard, both of New Lexington; several nieces and nephews and two very special friends, Vickey Treadway and Jim Whaley.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Sarah Pauline and a sister, Patricia Wattenbarger.

Calling hours will be held from 5pm-8pm on Friday, June 17, 2016 and from 10am-11am on Saturday, June 18, 2016 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday at the funeral home with Reverend Arthur Potts officiating.

Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery.
