Myrtle Anne (Skinner) Craig

Myrtle Anne Craig, 61, of New Lexington, Ohio died at 1:50pm on Wednesday, November 29, 2017 at the Pickering House, FairHoPe Hospice, Lancaster, Ohio.

Born June 27, 1956 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Bernard and Sarah Heinley Skinner.

Anne graduated from Philo High School, attended Ohio University and got her degree in Police Science from Hocking College; she was the first female police officer for the City of New Lexington and her rank was Sergeant /Detective; former member of the New Lexington Fire and E.M.S. Departments, she was a paramedic and a E.M.T. instructor,  where she received numerous awards for her service.

Anne was well known throughout the city of New Lexington; member of the Faith Center Church and she was dedicated to her kids and grandkids.

Survived by a daughter, Stacie (Adam) Shirkey of Crooksville; son, Jeff Craig of New Lexington; 5 grandchildren, Makaila, Hannah, Taylor, Gavin and Peyton; 3 brothers, Richard (Laura) Skinner, Stuart (Carol) Reppart and Kenny Reppart; special sisters, Peggy Watts, Nancy Harrop, Betty Sue Wintgens, Madonna Barrett; special friend, Joann Jago, member of the “Dream Team”  and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, preceded in death by her husband, Richard O. Craig, August 12, 1997; sister, Sylvia and brothers, Lewis and Mickey.

Calling hours will be held from 4pm-8pm on Sunday, December 3, 2017 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, December 4, 2017 at the funeral home with Pastor Peggy Watts officiating.

Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery, New Lexington, Ohio with Police, Fire and E.M.T funeral rites.
