Richard Alan Shipley, 60, of New Lexington, checked out of the Pickering House on Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at 9:26 PM, to attend his reunion in Heaven. Those attending Rick’s reunion in Heaven are his father, Robert L. Shipley, mother, Evelyn R. (Hammond), Shipley brother, Robert L. Shipley II, grandparents, Albinus and Grace (Speaks) Hammond, and a dear friend, John Shipley.
Rick loved the beach, enjoyed working on cars, listening to old records, and hanging out with his friends when he was able. Rick could always put a smile on your face by the funny (sometimes crazy) things he did or said.
Born October 18, 1955, Rick is survived by his loving sister, Patricia (Shipley) Baker, daughter Chrissy & Travis Pickrell, grandchildren, Madison Colvin, Amillia and Owen Pickrell, several nieces, nephews, and special friends, including long-time friend, Chuck Abram.
Calling hours will be held from 4pm-6pm with funeral service at 6:00pm with Reverend Richard Newlon officiating on Sunday, April 24, 2016 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.
Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery at a later date.
