Sandra K. (Baker) Newman

Sandra K. “Sandy” Newman 71, of New Lexington, died peacefully surrounded by her family, Friday, September 15, 2017, at Genesis Hospital under the care of Genesis Hospice. She was born October 5, 1945, in New Lexington the daughter of Robert “Bob” & Lawayna (Dickerson) Baker. She married Robert E. “Bob” Newman, Sr. on October 4, 1963.

Sandy was a loving and caring daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother to whom family meant everything to her. Spending time with her family was a great treat to her. She loved to fish and go mushroom hunting. She had a large collection of cookbooks and loved to cook where she excelled in all the goodies she prepared.  Sandy was also an avid Ohio State Buckeyes Fan.

In addition to her mother, Sandy is survived by her husband: Bob Newman, Sr.; one daughter: Julie & Brad Shriner of Junction City; one son: Clint & Trish Newman of Somerset; four grandchildren: Brandie Shriner & fiancée Cody Wainwright, Dustin & Kendra Shriner, Simon Newman & Lucy Newman; five great grandchildren: Donovin  Shriner, Colton Fox, Chase Shriner, Cord Shriner & Crew Shriner; four brothers: Forest & Bea Baker, Bruce Baker, Dave & Sandy Baker all of New Lexington and Rob & Mary Baker of Junction City; several aunt, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her father: Bob Baker, Sandy was preceded in death by one son: Robert E. “Bobby” Newman, Jr.

Graveside Services will be held 1:00 PM, Monday, September 18, 2017, at New Lexington Cemetery with Rev. Dick Newlon officiating.
