Terry L. Rugg

Terry L. Rugg, 65, of New Lexington, Ohio died at 12:02am on Saturday, November 7, 2015 at Fairfield Medical Center, Lancaster, Ohio. Born April 10, 1950 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Myron and Ruth Clouse Rugg. Terry was a partner of McLain, Hill, Rugg & Associates, Inc., admitted in 1976 with over 40 years of public accounting experience with his beginnings at Ernst & Ernst in Cleveland, Ohio. Terry graduated from Saint Aloysius and Baldwin-Wallace College. Terry was a member of the Ohio Society of Certified Public Accountants and American Institute of Certified Public Accountants. He was a dedicated director of the Peoples National Bank since his appointment on January 1, 2001. Terry served as audit committee chairman and was a member of the salary and compensation committee; he played an instrumental role in the banks overall asset growth during his 15 year tenure. Terry has served the community in many ways throughout his accounting career. Member of Saint Rose Catholic Church; McGahan Council #1065, Knights of Columbus; B.P.O.E. #509 and Eagles # 2070, all of New Lexington and the Amvets of Thornport. Terry enjoyed spending time with his family, fishing, golfing, gardening, playing cards and Cleveland sports. He was a dedicated and loving Husband, Father and Grandfather with his family as the center of his life. Survived by his wife of 43 years, Sandy Middaugh Rugg of the home; children, Marissa (Eddie) Ward of Junction City and T.J. Rugg of Bexley; granddaughters, Kate and Elizabeth Ward; brothers, Ed (Jennifer) Rugg and Dan (Ramona) Rugg. In addition to his parents, preceded in death by sister, Judy Clements and a brother, Donnie Rugg Calling hours will be held from 2pm-8pm with Wake Service at 6pm and Elks services at 8pm on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Saint Rose Catholic Church, Main and Water Streets, New Lexington, Ohio with Father James Csaszar as celebrant.
