Virginia L. (Frederick) Phillips

Virginia L. McKenzie Phillips, 83, of New Lexington, Ohio died at 8:55am on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Mount Carmel East Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.

Born December 22, 1931 in Chicago, Illinois to the late Harold B. and Patricia L. Grant Frederick.

Virginia was a retired cook from New Lexington Elementary School and a member of Saint Rose Catholic Church of New Lexington.

Survived by her husband, Richard L. Phillips, Sr. of the home; 4 children, Rebbeca A. (Harley) Thomas of Bremen, Jody McKenzie of Thornville, Michael R. McKenzie of Millersport and Bruce D. McKenzie of Miami, FL.; 4 step-children, Melinda Phillips of Johnstown, Cathy (Robert) Phillips of Buckeye Lake,  Richard L. Phillips, Jr. of Thornville,  Eric (Shannon) Phillips of Somerset; 16 grandchildren, Megan (Rob) Gant, Cassie (Andy) Thomas, Melissa (Tracy) Tankersly, Carey (Terry) Lutz, Matt Phillips, Mark Phillips, Nichole (Jon) Walters, Melissa (Adam) Azbell, Heath (Nikki) McKenzie, Krystina Stacy, Bret Stacy, Derek Stacy, Shea Phillips, Ezra Phillips, Jessica Thacker, Amanda Phillips; 28 great-grandchildren; beloved puppy, Bitsy;  numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents, preceded in death by sisters, Ada C. Christensen, Sue (Lynn) Martin.

Calling hours will be held from 2-4pm and 6-8pm with Rosary at 7:45pm on Monday, April 6, 2015 and from 10am-11am on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at the funeral home with Father John Reade officiating.

Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery.
