William B. Stickdorn, 102, of Corning, Ohio died at 9:45pm on Sunday, July 12, 2015 at The Maplewood of Athens.
Born May 8, 1913 in Hemlock, Ohio to the late Peter W. and Susan Charlton Stickdorn.
Bill was a United States Army Veteran of WW II, 278th Ordnance Maintenance Company Antiaircraft Artillery; Formerly of Elyria, he retired from Rigid Tool of Elyria and returned to the Corning and Millertown area in 1977; member of Bethany United Methodist Church of Corning, Ohio and American Legion Post #327 of Corning, Ohio.
Survived by two nephews, James (Vicki) Palmer of Corning and Kelly M. Palmer of Pickerington; great-nephew, Donald “D.J.”(Melissa) Palmer of Corning and a great-niece, Lynann (John) Bolyard of Corning and several great, great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Norma Maxine Stickdorn on January 4, 1998; 3 brothers, Peter, Jr., Fred and Carl Stickdorn; 4 sisters, Jane Kidwell, Laura Baker, Mary Post and Norma Smith.
Calling Hours will be held from 4pm-8pm on Monday, July 20, 2015 and from 1pm-2pm on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00pm on Tuesday at the funeral home with Reverend Carolyn Hoskinson and Reverend John Kay officiating.
Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery, New Lexington, Ohio with graveside military services by Corning American Legion Post #327.
