Philip David Munyan, 96, of New Lexington, Ohio died Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at his home.
Born July 23, 1927 in Rehoboth, Ohio to the late Walter and Amanda Hiles Munyan.
Philip was a United States Navy veteran of WWII and on July, 1947 he married the love of his life, Lillian Mae Munyan. He retired from Ropers in Newark, Ohio. Philip owned a small farm and raised beef cattle. He loved gardening, watching the Cleveland Indians, his cabins along the Muskingum River, mowing, his family and grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, David L. (Marilyn) Munyan of Glenford, Michael P. (Judy) Munyan of Lancaster, John (Carla) Munyan and Carol (Allen) Dennis all of New Lexington; 10 grandchildren, Mike Jr., Bart, Anthony, Ben, Daniel, Angie, Lisa, Carrie, Megan and Johnathan; 20 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren and nephew and best friend, Ernest Givens.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian Mae Munyan; 1 great-grandchild; brothers, Donald and Lewis Munyan; sisters, Minnie Givens, Alice Steen, Geraldine Paxson and Thelma Halsey.
Calling hours will be held 11am-1pm with funeral services at 1pm with Reverend Richard Young officiating on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.
Burial will follow at New Lexington Cemetery, New Lexington, Ohio with graveside Military services by John Tague Post #188, American Legion of New Lexington, Ohio.
