Betty Elizabeth (Nace) Lemity

Betty Elizabeth (Nace) Lemity passed away at 9:10 am Sunday, November 25, 2018 at her home, with her family at her side.

She was born January 23, 1924 at Circleville, Ohio to the late Louis C. and Bessy E. (Diltz) Nace.

She was a homemaker and loving and caring mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She enjoyed country living and had great faith in her God. She always said her greatest treasures were family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She spent her life raising Monarch butterflies and shared that passion with everybody she could!

She was a member of the Junction City American Legion Auxiliary and attended the Good Shepherd United Methodist Church.

She worked for Curtiss-Wright in her early years during World War II.  The women that worked on aircraft during the war became known as “Rosie the Riveter”. In her later years, she worked at the Top Hat Restaurant and then Sakas.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her first husband, William L Lemity, Sr.; daughter, Fay Gilligan, daughter-in-law Diana Reed; brothers, Bob, Jim, Jerry, Chuck and Bill Nace, Vic and Bruce Turner; sisters, Mary, Dorothy, Nell and Nancy Jo; great great grandson, Gavin Shumaker and second husband, William Hubble.

She is survived by her daughters, Kay (Dave) Stickdorn and Joyce (Bill) Barnett and son, William Lemity, Jr.; grandchildren, Terri (Jeff) Shumaker, Angie (Mark) Saunders, Mike (Jenny) Gilligan, Megan (Todd) McCord, Ryan (Lisa) Householder, Jenny (Rod) Nutter, Jaime Groves, Jeri (Neil) Sheradin, Mary Lemity and William Lemity III; brothers, Don (Rita) Nace and Tom (Joyce) Turner; great grandchildren, Jacob (Chloe), Lucas (Keylee) and Kaleb (Ashley Hill) Shumaker, Drew and Brock Ryan, Casey, Cole and Chloe Gilligan, Gavin and Brayden Metzger, Grace, Logan and Justin Householder, Toby, Bradley and Thaddeus McCord, Dylan McGraw, Emma Snider, Sophia, Elliott and Farrah Nutter, Joey, Ben, Andrea and Johnny Groves, Abigail, Alyssa Smith and Lizzie Sheradin, Kylie and Connor Fink and Berylnn Rose Decot; son-in-law, William Gilligan and many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held from 4pm to 8pm on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral; Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 29, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastor John Sellers officiating.  Burial will follow at New Lexington Cemetery.
