Charles S. “Chuck” Hammond, 76 of Junction City, Ohio passed away from a lengthy illness surrounded by his family and loved ones on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the Pickering House, Lancaster, Ohio.

Born October 15, 1940 in Crum, West Virginia to the late James and Minnie Turner Hammond.

Chuck was a United States Marine Corps Veteran; owner and operator of Hammond Appliances of Junction City; member of the Anchor Church of New Lexington and a volunteer firefighter for several fire departments.

Chuck loved the Lord Jesus Christ; he was a hard working man who loved to help others, loved people, his family and community; he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

Survived by his wife of 35 years, Monica Wollenberg Hammond of the home; son, Bruce (Lisa) Hammond of Tarlton; step-son, Joshua Rose of New Lexington; 2 step-daughters, Alycia (Jeremy) Causey of Forsyth, GA. and Trinae Rose of Austin, TX.; grandchildren, Erica (T.J.) Templeton, Amanda (Caleb) Brady, Casey Hammond, Kendall and Delaney Rose, Marshall, Madelyn and Campbell Causey and Ilayna Rose; 5 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Larry (Sharron) Hammond, Laura (Del) Chapman, Wilma Hammond and Lee (Marcie) Hammond; several brothers and sisters-in-laws; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents, preceded in death by a son, Wade Hammond; brothers and sisters, Turner Hammond, Ramona Markum, Margaret Ellen Hammond, Ernest Hammond, Geneva Markum and Delbert Hammond.

Calling hours will be held from 11am-2pm with funeral service at 2:00pm with Pastor Anthony Richards officiating on Wednesday, October 11, 2017 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

Burial will follow in Rehoboth Cemetery, Rehoboth, Ohio with graveside military services by James E. Fisher Post #376, American Legion, Junction City, Ohio.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to FairHoPe Hospice, 282 Sells Road, Lancaster, Ohio 43130.
