Desiree “Desi” Lynn Barker, born August 10, 1987, peacefully went to be with The Lord on Saturday, January 6, 2018 at 9:19pm after a 5 year battle with breast cancer.
Desiree is survived by her parents, Harold D. (Tina) Barker of New Lexington and Diane S. (Clinton Sims) Dodson of Corning. Her fiancé, TJ Renick of Crooksville and Her children, Landon (11), Trenton (10) and Matthew (5); Her sisters, Danielle R. (Job Wise) Barker of Zanesville and Patricia “Cakers” M. Dinunzio of Corning; Step-brothers, Bob (Beverly) Nelson and Joe (Shannon) Nelson; Nieces and Nephews, Makinley Kovach, Rory Dinunzio, Dalton, Jocelynn and Vanessa Bugglin, Harper and Hudsyn Black and Briana, Bradley and Elliana Nelson; Brother in law: Adrin Roush; Sister in law: Santana (Amber) Black and Mother in law and adopted Grandmother, Marsha Dusenberry and Pat Dusenberry; Grandmother: Nancy Barker and MANY Aunts, Uncles and cousins.
Desiree is preceded in death by her Grandparents, Daniel Andrew Dodson and Patrica Ann Dodson of Corning; Aunt and Uncle: Kathy M. Dodson-Dinunzio and Larry Dinunzio of Corning.
Desiree is a 2005 graduate of Miller High School in Hemlock, Ohio. She is a member of The Anchor Church of Crooksville and a HAG sister to 60+ women.
Desiree fought a very long and courageous battle against breast cancer until the very end. Not a day went by that she did not have a positive attitude and determined to beat this ugly disease. She was a true warrior and inspiration to those of us who knew her best up to complete strangers. She will be dearly missed!
Calling hours for Desiree will be held from 2pm-8pm on Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the funeral home with Pastor Tony Richards of The Anchor Church officiating. No graveside services will be held.
