Janie M. Durst, 87, of Oakfield, Ohio on Saturday, she seen God’s light and said she was going to heaven, she told her children not to cry and be happy, she then went to be with her Savior on Thursday, November 22, 2018 at Genesis Hospice, Morrison House in Zanesville, Ohio surrounded by her family.
Born March 17, 1931 in Leon, West Virginia to the late Okey Lloyd and Mary McKinney Keefer.
Janie loved her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; she enjoyed singing and listening to hymns.
Survived by her children, Janice (Terry) Peyton of Shawnee, Rita Hosom of Maryborough, Australia, Angela (Jim) Gable of Zanesville, Earl (Pat) Durst of Shawnee and Carl Durst of Crooksville; grandchildren, Phillip Peyton, Earl (Andrea) Durst, Jr., Eric (Rhonda) Durst, Crystal (Trevor) Newman, Trisha (Joel) Richards, Kevin Peyton, Michael Durst and Kayla Durst; great-grandchildren, Brian, Kyrstien, Kaliegh and Kaisley Durst, Christopher Peyton, Emma and Matthew Newman, Stormy and Maddix Durst; brothers, Okey, Vernon, Kenneth, Cecil and William; sisters, Louise, Gladys and Kay; uncle, Henry Keefer and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was met with open arms by her parents; her beloved husband, William “Bill” Durst; granddaughter, Carla Hosom; son-in-law, Carlos Hosom; sister, Ivy Mae Wheeler-Casto and other family members.
Calling hours will be held from 2-4pm & 6-8pm on Sunday, November 25, 2018 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.
Additional calling will be held from 5pm-8pm on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 at the Crow-Hussell Funeral Home, 1701 Jefferson Blvd., Point Pleasant, West Virginia. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at the funeral home with Reverend David Glass officiating.
Burial will take place in Hopewell Cemetery, Mount Alto, W.Va.
