John E. Zartman

John E. Zartman, 66, of New Lexington, Ohio passed away at 6:50am on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at the Laurels of Athens, Athens, Ohio.

Born August 20, 1951 in Corning, Ohio to the late Lester and Ida Mae Monroe Zartman.

John was a United States Air Force Veteran for four years and served in the Army National Guard for two years; he was employed at various potteries and retired from Ludowici Roof Tile after 34 years of service; member of the First Church of God, New Lexington;  was a Christian and a  American Red Cross Blood Donor.

Survived by his daughter, Carmen (Douglas) Mitchell of Nelsonville; granddaughter, Madelyn Marie Mitchell of Nelsonville; brother, Lester Zartman of Rockaway Park,  New York; sisters, Joan E. Wright  and Shirley J. Wamack, both of New Lexington and Virginia S. McDonald of Norwich, OH.

In addition to his parents, preceded in death by his sister, Esther M. Rice; his pet cat of 16 years, Lucky and 3 brothers-in-laws, Richard Wamack, Nolan Wright and Tom Rice; sister-in-law, Elizabeth Zartman.

Calling hours will be held from 1pm-3pm with funeral service at 3:00pm with Pastor Tim Poling officiating and military services by John Tague Post #188, American Legion, New Lexington on Saturday, October 21, 2017 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

Burial will be in Zion Cemetery, Portersville, Ohio at a later date.
