Norma C. (Sims) Niceswanger

Norma C. Niceswanger, 96 of Hopewell, Ohio, formerly of Malta, Ohio passed away at 4:00 am, Friday, May 25, 2018 at Cedar Hill Nursing Home, Zanesville, Ohio.

Born April 7, 1922 in Sayre, Ohio the daughter of the late Floyd L. and Bessie A. Hartley Sims.

Norma attended Zion Church; was a 1940 graduate of McLuney High School; she retired from Gould Industries in 1984 and was a member of the VFW auxiliary and the Disabled American Veterans.

Surviving is her son, Jeffrey J. (Kathy Boothe) James; 2 granddaughters, Amy James (Tom) Karr of Racine and Nicole James of Hopewell; 2 great-grandsons, Paxton J. Pickrell (Alexis Baker) of Emmetsburg, Iowa and Colton J. Pickrell (Linsey Lynch) of Zanesville; two sisters, Luella J. Miles of Naples, Florida and Carolyn S. Cable of Zanesville; one brother, Herbert L. Sims of New Lexington and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Niceswanger; 3 brothers, Edgar W., Leonard L. and Amos G. Sims.

Visitation will be held from 12pm to 2pm on Tuesday, May 29, 2018 at the Zion Church, Portersville, Ohio and funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Gail Sims officiating.
