Paul Emanuel Alfman of Corning, Ohio lost his battle with cancer July 3, 2018 at The Pickering House in Lancaster.
Born in Rendville, Ohio on June 14, 1936 to the late Rev. John and Ida May (Hurst) Alfman.
He served two years as a mechanic in the United States Army. He was a member of the Corning Eagles, 530 labor union, and retired from Igel Inc. after 32 yrs. He was an avid bowler and enjoyed throwing horseshoes and playing cards.
Paul is survived by three beloved daughters, Brenda (Randy)Kranyik, Laura (Jim)Sweeney and Marsha Alfman. Seven Grandchildren Carrie (Rusty) Pride, Randy Kranyik, Brandy Sweeney (James) Evrard, Joey and Jordan Sweeney, and Colton and Shannon Lafollette. Seven great grandchildren, Connor, Chase, Mason, Hewson, Gunner, Ryleigh, and Mya. A Brother David (Barb)Alfman of Corning, a brother in law Dave McCloy of New Lexington, a sister in law, Cora (Don) Alfman, several nieces and nephews, special friend Tom Garbline of Corning and his loyal Yorkie, Christy.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 51 yrs Betty (McCloy) Alfman a son Paul Jeffrey Alfman, two grandsons Jason Micheal and Joseph Allen Kranyik, sisters, Ruby Alfman, Annabelle Long, Margret Dodson, Edna West and Ruth Marshall and brothers Ralph, Charles, Fred and Johnny.
Calling hours will be held from 2-4pm and 6-8pm on Friday, July 6, 2018 at the Roberts- Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at the Funeral Home. Guests may arrive one hour prior.
Burial at Oakfield Cemetery following service.
The family wishes to thank the wonderful staff at The Pickering House in Lancaster for making Paul’s final days comfortable and peaceful.
