Paul A. Johnson, 100, of New Lexington, Ohio died at 6:15pm on Friday, August 18, 2017 at Genesis-New Lexington Care Center.

Born January 19, 1917 in Junction City, Ohio to the late Edward and Eva Bland Johnson.

Paul was a United States Navy Veteran during WW II, five of his brothers were serving at the same time; Paul was on the USS Walker as an electrician serving in the US Pacific.

In his younger years he had worked in the oil fields and later years for the US Postal Service; he was an avid lover of old cars and a member of Saint Rose Catholic Church, New Lexington.

Survived by his nephew and special caregivers, Larry (Dee) Skillman of New Lexington; several other nieces and nephews; sister-in-law, Francis Johnson of Zanesville.

In addition to his parents, preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Evelyn Johnson, May 12, 2005; brothers and sisters, Charles, Mary, Andrew, Eileen, Robert, Leo, Earl, Carl and 2 half brothers, Lawrence and Joseph.

Calling hours will be held from 5pm-8pm on Monday, August 21, 2017 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at the funeral home with his nephew, Larry Skillman officiating.

Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery with graveside military services by John Tague Post #188, American Legion, New Lexington, Ohio.
