Roberta J. (Hakes) McGreevy

Roberta J. McGreevy, 91 of Sidney, formerly of Crooksville, died peacefully Saturday, August 11, 2018, at her daughter’s home in Sidney. 

She was born Monday, September 13, 1926, in Lorain, the daughter of Sheldon Hakes and Ruth (Baldwin) Hakes. She married Joseph McGreevy on Saturday, June 7, 1947, and was a member of Saint Rose Catholic Church.

Roberta was a homemaker and the proud mother of six children. She loved to sew, was an avid reader, enjoyed crossword puzzles and was never seen without her cup of coffee. Roberta was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who greatly enjoyed the time she spent with her loving family.

In addition to her husband of the home: Joseph McGreevy, Roberta is survived by her children: Tim (Carol) McGreevy of Circleville, Marc (Teresa) McGreevy of Crooksville, Kathy McGreevy of Sidney, Rob (Mary Ann) McGreevy of Potsdam, NY and Rich (Jean) McGreevy of Sidney; twelve grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Roberta was preceded in death by one son: Bruce G. McGreevy and four siblings: Robert Hakes, Faye Shane, Donna Wolfe and Elaine Teutsch.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated 11:00 AM, Thursday, August 16, 2018, at Saint Rose Catholic Church, 3009 North Main Street, New Lexington, with Fr. Daniel Swartz as Celebrant.
