Roy Allen DeLong, Sr.

On Wednesday, September 19, 2018, Roy Allen DeLong Sr., loving husband and father of three children, passed away at the age of 61. Roy was born on October 8, 1956 in Columbus, OH to the late Elmer and Alice Dennison DeLong. Roy was a United States Marine Corps Veteran and a member of the Masonic Lodge of Glouster, Ohio. On October 8, 1975, he married Romona Katherina Ross. They raised one son, Roy II, and two daughters, Roshell and Robecca. Roy was passionate about spending time with his family and working on his farm. He also loved his other family at Hocking and SCI, but he was looking forward to retirement and spending it with his loving wife. He was known for his quick wit, his infectious smile, his comical humor, and his kind and compassionate spirit. He is survived by his wife Romona, his three children, Roy, Roshell, and Robecca, his brother Billy, and his four granddaughters, one grandson, and two great grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held from 4pm-8pm with Masonic Lodge services at 7:45pm on Sunday, September 23, 2018 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio. Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, September 24, 2018 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Millertown-Oakwood Cemetery with graveside military honors by the United States Marine Corps and Corning Post #327, American Legion.
