Alberta Fae Hartshorn, 84, of Jacksonville, Ohio died Wednesday, March 27, 2024 at O’Bleness Hospital in Athens, Ohio.
Born November 11, 1939 in Corning, Ohio to the late Johnnie and Goldie Alta Byers Whaley.
She was a lifetime auxiliary member of James E. Fisher Post 376, American Legion of Junction City. She loved her vacations, traveling, and taking a ride on back roads.
Alberta is survived by her children, Jeff Shepard, Kathy Ahsaruk, Donald Shepard and Melissa Congrove; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Evelyn Whitehead, Larry Whaley, James Whaley and Julia Whaley; several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she preceded in death by her children, Cheryl King and Ronald Shepard; siblings, John, Eugene, Ricky, Charles, Crystal, and Stephen; granddaughter, Amanda; and a great-grandson and great-granddaughter.
Calling hours will held 4-7pm on Monday, April 1, 2024 at Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.
Funeral will be held at 1:00pm on Tuesday, April 2, 2024 at the Funeral Home.
Burial will follow at Zion Cemetery in Portersville, Ohio.
In Lieu of flowers donations can be made to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
