Alice Crago Obituary

Alice Bernadine Crago, age 88, of Rehoboth Ohio passed away on Monday October 29th 2018, peacefully in her sleep.

She was born to parents, Mabel Lacy - Hanks and Joseph Lacy on March 17th, 1930 in Dresden, OH. She had a brother, preceded in death, Chuck Mills and leaves behind her sister, Marion Dingess. Alice graduated from Jefferson High School in Dresden, OH in 1948.

She married her first husband, the late John Freitag Sr. and they had three children together. The late John Freitag Jr (Judy), Cheryl Fulk (Ronnie) and Richard Freitag (Michelle). They were blessed with thirteen grandchildren. Shane Freitag, Sean Freitag, Joe Freitag, Jerrod Watson, Wayne Watson, Nick Fulk, Lacey Nelson, Richard Freitag Jr, Jake Freitag, Brett Freitag, the late Kenneth Howard, Dulton Watson and Samantha White. She is also survived by a host of great grandchildren as well.

In 1971, she met and married her current husband and true love of her life, Gary Crago. They shared forty seven years of lifes adventures together. They rode motorcycles together when they were younger. Alice rode her own, not on the back of Gary's. She is also a breast cancer survivor. She fought that battle and won. She had a long and lovely life with many wonderful memories. She will be forever missed by Gary who will always love her dearly.

Alice was an amazing woman who left a beautiful mark on this world through the teaching, nurturing and caring for, not only her own family but others as well. She worked for the Headstart Program teaching the little ones for several years in both New Lexington, OH and Corning, OH. In her later years she became an employee of The Multi County Juvenile Facility in New Lexington, OH as a "Grandma". It is safe to say she loved her work with those boys and they left there being better young men, due to the love and care she showed them. While enriching their lives. She held this position until the age of 83 years of age.

She received an award from the State of Ohio, for her competency, her caring ways and overall amazing abilities to help these young men.

She has been loved dearly in her life by her family, her friends and all of those who had the privilege of crossing paths with her.

A memorial service will be held at the Oakfield Wesleyan Church at 11:00am on Monday, November 5, 2018.
