Ava Sheline

Ava Jo (Abram) Sheline, 66, of New Lexington, Ohio, went to her heavenly home with Jesus on October 16, 2023, surrounded by her family at the Pickering House, in Lancaster, Ohio.

Ava was born on November 22, 1956 to the late Shelba Jean (Wolfe) Abram in Nelsonville, Ohio. Ava was the eldest of seven children.

A wife for 49 years to James Sheline. Together they raised four daughters. Ava was a remarkable cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family, most especially over the holidays. She enjoyed going to Bingo with her daughters, playing scratch-off lottery tickets and family gatherings. Ava never met a stranger and welcomed everyone with warm hugs and kind words.

Ava is survived by her loving husband and best friend, James Sheline; daughters, Becky Sheline, Barbara (Shaun) Blanton, Brenda Sheline, and Beverly (Bob) Nelson; eight grandchildren, Elizabeth and Brandon Gray, Austin (Nicole) and Alexis Blanton, Hunter and Ethan VanCuren, Briana and Bradley Nelson; Siblings, Russ, Mark, Jane, and Jenny; aunts,Nita, Cathy, and Nora; many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Special mention to her cousin, Beth Safell who visited her frequently and was like a sister to her.

In addition to her mother, Ava was preceded in death by her brothers, James Robert Abram and Norman “Skip” Eugene Abram, her grandparents, and her special fur baby, Princess.

Special thanks to the Pickering House for assisting us through this rough time and for being there for Ava, and to Spring Home Health Care for helping with her care in the home.

A visitation to honor Ava’s memory will held on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, 4-6 PM at Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.
