Carole Williams Obituary

Carole Murray Williams was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend. She passed away peacefully in Vero Beach, Florida, surrounded by family on November 30, 2021.

Carole was born to Howard and Grace (Winter) Murray on December 2, 1937 in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada and grew up on the family farm in Yellow Grass. After receiving her R.N. in 1959, she attended the University of Saskatchewan and subsequently taught at the Regina General Hospital College of Nursing until 1966. Nursing was a rewarding career which she practiced in various ways throughout her lifetime until retirement in 1992.

Carole met her husband, Robert Williams, in 1963 on a blind date to a Limeliters concert in Regina and, after a whirlwind romance, were married on October 5, 1963. They moved to Sierra Leone, West Africa when Robert’s position with PPG transferred there. Carole enjoyed her passion for nursing and mission work while living in West Africa. The family eventually settled in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and made Mt. Lebanon their home for 23 years where they raised their three children, Leanne, Jennette, and Glenn. Carole and Robert enjoyed retirement in Vero Beach, Florida and also their country home near Robert’s hometown of New Lexington, Ohio.

Carole was proud of her Canadian heritage and her Scottish ancestors, who in 1882, were among the original pioneers of Saskatchewan. She enjoyed researching genealogy and also assisted many others in researching their own family trees.

Carole will be remembered for her beautiful smile, contagious laugh, lovely singing voice, kindness to others, and for her love and devotion to God and family. She is survived by her husband, Robert, and three children, Leanne (Jim) Toner, Jennette (Chris) Fetters, and Glenn Williams. Carole is also survived by eight grandchildren and her brother, Harold (Jacqueline) Murray of Calgary, Alberta.

A graveside service is planned for Saturday, December 11th at 11:00 a.m. at the New Lexington Cemetery, 440 Swigart Street, New Lexington, OH 43764 with Reverend Richard Newlon officiating.
