Carolyn Sue Wiseman arrived into this world on September 21, 1949 and left peacefully on Friday February 9, 2024. Anyone who knew Carolyn knew that she was the most loving wife, mother, grandmother, sibling and daughter a family could ask for.
Born to Clarence and Eunice Kokensparger. She was a lifetime resident of Perry County. Graduating from New Lexington High School in 1967.
She has been married to the love of her life, Lee Wiseman for over 50 years. Carolyn was a lifetime member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church where she held many roles from a Sunday school teacher to WELCA President. A 45 year member of Ohio Eastern Star Where she has been Worthy Matron Many times, Deputy Grand Matron and Grand Representative. She is also a member of lovelinks. A familiar face to many, Carolyn retired from Kroger’s after 38 years. For many years she worked the precinct polls at election as well as volunteering numerous hours to the Perry County Agricultural Society.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband Lee and her children Angie (Tim) Finck, Joyce (Jay Marshall) Miller and Bob (Jennifer) Wiseman; Her step-children Kelly Greene, Carol (Mark) Howdyshell, Ted Wisemen and Roxane (Bob) Skidmore
Affectionately known as grandma Susie, she leaves behind 17 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren whom brought her the most joy. Baby sister to her brothers, Mearl Kokensparger, Jerry (Georgine) Kokensparger, Tom (Doris) Kokensparger and Rick (Shirley) Kokensparger; and countless family members who adored her.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her in laws Theodore and Ople Wiseman; sister, Gloria Burley; brother, Gilbert Kokensparger; sister-in-laws, Rita, Wilda and Roberta Kokensparger; brother-in-laws, Denver and Charles Wiseman; nephews, Royce Jr and Jeff Kokensparger and Mike Burley.
Carolyn loved fiercely and deeply. Her kindness, her wit, her loving nature and her great hugs will be dearly missed. Even at the end she found a way to smile, laugh and love on her family. Thank you to Fairhope Hopice Pickering House team for making that happen, we are so grateful.
Calling hours will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, with Eastern Star service at 8pm on Thursday, February 15, 2024 at Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio where we invite you to share pictures and memories to celebrate Carolyn’s life.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, February 16, 2024 at the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 201 West Brown Street, New Lexington, Ohio with Pastor Kristin Santiago officiating.
Burial will follow in Fultonham Cemetery, 5590 Cemetery Drive, East Fultonham, Ohio.
