Christine Marie Barnette, 42 of New Lexington, Ohio died at 8:45 am on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at the Pickering House, Lancaster, Ohio.

Born July 9, 1979 in Lancaster, Ohio to Dane Gordon and Margaret “Peggy” Church.

She was a member of the Saint Rose Catholic Church; Treasurer of New Lexington City Schools; loved her boys more than anything; spending time with family and friends; camping; watching her boys sporting events; running, jogging and reading; loved taking care of everybody else. A “True Angel”.

Christie is survived by her husband of 17 years, Rod Barnette; sons, Jacob, Andrew, Wyatt and Rudy Barnette; mother, Margaret “Peggy” (Ron) Church; father, Dane (Holly) Gordon; brothers, Joseph (Angela) Gordon, Jeremy (Morgan) Gordon, Randy Gordon, Todd Calvert and Jared (Heather) Church; grandparents, Wilma Neil) Gordon and Fred & Marty Huddleston; father-in-law, Rudy Barnette; brothers-in-law, Rick (Shana), Robbie (Michelle) and Randy; sister-in-law, Debbie (Chris) Russell; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by grandfather, Richard Gordon; grandmother, Anne Maxson, grandparents, Joseph & Barbara Sweeney and mother-in-law, Betty Barnette.

Calling hours will be held from 2pm to 8pm on Friday at Saint Rose Catholic Church, 309 North Main Street, New Lexington, Ohio

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday at the church with Father Chris Yakkel and Deacon Mark Weiner as celebrants.

Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery.
