Claude Tolliver, 80, passed away on September 3rd, 2024, at his home in New Lexington, Ohio, surrounded by his family.
Born on March 12, 1944 in Jackhorn, Kentucky, to Hillard and Ruth (Meade) Tolliver.
Claude retired form Peabody Coal Company. He is a member of the UMWA local 1340 and past member of the Southeastern Hunting & Fishing Club. He was an avid outdoorsman, finding joy in his fruit tree orchard, gardening, hunting, and fishing. These activities brought him peace but also provided cherished memories with family and friends.
Claude is survived by his devoted wife of 63 years, Nancy (Tackett), and their children: Valerie Dearing (Rick), Lisa Leckrone (Joe), Wayne Tolliver (Cindy), and Kevin Tolliver (Melissa), 14 grandchildren, and 20 great- grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brother, Willis Tolliver, and a very special sister-in-law, Elizabeth Sexton. Claude was preceded in death by his parents Hillard and Ruth, His 3 sisters, Lucile, Flora, and Mildred, and his brothers, Quinton, Robert Daniel, and Paul.
Calling hours will be held 4 to 8pm on Thursday September 5th, 2024 and from 11am-1pm on Friday, September 6, 2024 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio 43764.
Funeral Service will be held at 1:00pm on Friday at the funeral home with Evangelist Sam Bartrug officiating.
Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery in New Lexington, Ohio.
