David S. Smith

David Scott Smith, 56, of West Jefferson, Ohio, formerly of Newark, Ohio passed away peacefully at Riverside Methodist Hospital on July 9, 2024 in Columbus, Ohio.

He was born August 28, 1967 in Newark, Ohio to George and Diane (Walz) Smith.

He attended Newark Senior High school graduating in 1985. He served in the United States Navy. He was a press operator at Atkore International. He loved his pets Tink, Precious and Pepper. His favorite past times were playing and designing games for the computer, managing local Rock bands and working on Ohio history and the family tree.

He is survived by his children; Sarah E. Morris, Wesley (Stephine) Wayt, Lance Larsen, Olivia Smith and Noah Smith; father,George (Pam)Smith; sisters, Tammy Secrist, Saprina (Rick) Norris; brothers Joe (Jay) Smith, Steve (Dana) Smith, Rustin Smith and Dustin (Stephanie) Smith; several nieces, nephews ,great nieces,  great nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles. 

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Heather Dawn Smith and mother Diane S. Walz.

Calling hours will be held from 11am-1pm on July 12, 2024 with funeral services at 1:00 pm at Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

Burial will follow at New Lexington Cemetery, New Lexington, Ohio with Graveside Military Services by John Tague Post #188, American Legion of New Lexington.
