Deborah Sue Altier Fabiny, 69, of Glouster, formerly of Crooksville, Ohio died on Monday, January 13, 2025 at her home.
Born May 31st 1955 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Robert Altier and Mary Garey Altier of Sayre, Ohio.
Debbie graduated from Crooksville High School where she lettered in softball and Cheerleading and was a member of 4H. She was employed at Ohio University in Athens for 28 years before retiring due to complications with Lupus. She battled Lupus for over 20 years and was a breast cancer survivor before succumbing to small cell lung cancer. Debbie was tiny but was brave throughout all of these battles. Besides playing in several Softball leagues after high school, Debbie enjoyed gardening, listening to live music, attending art festivals, working outside and spending precious time with family.
In addition to her mother, survived by her daughter, Sarah Fabiny; sons, Andy and Stephen Fabiny; brothers, Jeff and Alan (Teresa) Altier; sister, Tammy (Sam) Hahn; cousins, nieces and nephews and former spouse, Joseph Fabiny.
In addition to her father, preceded in death by her brother, Randy Altier.
Calling hours will be held from 4:00pm to 7:00pm with Wake service at 7:00pm on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio and from 9:30am-10:30am at Saint Rose Catholic Church, 309 North Main Street, New Lexington, Ohio On Friday, January 17, 2025, ( please notice change of location for mass due to the weather)
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30am on Friday at the church with Father Emmanuel Adu Addai as Celebrant
Burial will follow at Saint Joseph Catholic Cemetery Crooksville, Ohio
