Donald K. Ellis

April 3, 1963 – October 22, 2025

It is with deep sympathy that we announce the passing of Donald Ellis, age 62 of New Lexington, Ohio. He passed away on October 22, 2025 at his home following a lengthy illness. Don (Rerun) was born in Zanesville, Ohio, son of the late Thomas Ellis and Katherine “Katie” McCaig Ellis.

Don was a lover of the Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Browns and all youth sports. He was a member of B.P.O.E #509 of New Lexington, Ohio; serving as trustee for many years. Don loved playing cards, watching his niece and nephew playing sports, cheering and dancing. He leaves behind many loving friends who will miss him terribly.  

Don is survived by his sisters, Lana (Dave) Carney and Tomma Ellis (Jim Butcher); many nieces, nephews and great- nephews. Special nephews, Tommy (Heather) Ellis and Tanner (Janelle) McConnell; special niece, Taylor McConnell (Levi Boyd); his life partner, Jackie Taylor and special fur baby, Cooper Oakes.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Randy Ellis.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm at the Elks Lodge Basement, 109 South Main Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

Per Don’s wishes his body will be submitted for research.
