Obituary

Donald Neil Sorrell, 84, of Lancaster, Ohio formally from Belpre, Ohio died at 5:50pm on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Crestview Nursing Home, Lancaster, Ohio.

He was born on August 31, 1937 to the late Donald E. and Sylvia Baker Sorrell.

Neil was a veteran of the U.S Navy.

He brought biddy league football to New Lexington in 1970 with Dave Hill and Vaughn Fink; he was witty and like practical jokes and writing funny poems. He loved grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Neil was survived by his wife, Laura Rebecca Hoops Sorrell, children, Gary (Penny) Sorrell and Karen (Scott) Huddle, grandchildren, Kelly (Nick) Polk, Tyler (Shelby) Huddle and Alison (Michael) Brown, great grandsons, Everett Brown and Hudson Brown, several nieces and nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Kevin Sorrell, brother Jerry Sorrell and sister Ruby Rowe.

Calling Hours will be held from 2pm-5pm on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

Funeral Service will be at 11am on Monday, February 21, 2022 at the funeral home.

Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery with graveside military services by James E. Fisher Post #376, American Legion, Junction City, Ohio.
