Edwin D. “Big Ed” Middaugh, 76 of Zanesville, died 12:00 PM, Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at his home in Zanesville, under the care of hospice.
He was born Wednesday, November 23, 1949,in, Zanesville, the son of Wayne Middaugh and Ruth (Fink) Middaugh-Decot.
Ed was employed in the steel manufacturing industry for many years, and retired as owner and operator of Ed’s Action Lube in Zanesville. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Zanesville, a Life-Time Member of the NRA, and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Ed was a fierce Harley Davidson lover and lived to ride his Harley. He lived his life by his own rules and stood firm in his convictions, no matter which way the wind blew. He was a man who never sought permission to be exactly who he was, earning the respect of those who truly knew him.
Ed is survived by his siblings, Roberta Clark, Wayne “Sonny” Middaugh, Mary (Everett) Moore, John (Pam) Middaugh and Lori (Matt) Bailey; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to his parents, Edwin was preceded in death by two siblings, Daniel Middaugh and Joan Janks.
Friends may call from 12 Noon to 1:00 PM with a Memorial Service at 1:00pm on Saturday, July 11th, 2026 at the Roberts Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington.
