Esther M. Rose, 97 of New Lexington, passed peacefully, Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Pickering House in Lancaster, following a brief illness. She was born September 26, 1924, in Perry County the daughter of Basil “Bud” Abram and Margaret (Sowers) Abram. She married Harold E. Rose on March 4, 1965 and was a member of First Church of God. Esther worked with Bryant Air Condition in New Lexington, retiring following twenty five years of service. Following her and Harold’s retirement they became snow birds. They enjoyed fishing in Florida, and eating Checkers French Fries while watching the yachts on the Indian River. Esther was a very active member of First Church of God where she was a Sunday School Teacher for many years and served on the Missionary Circle. She loved reading her bible daily and enjoyed her volunteer work with the Perry County Senior Center over the years. Esther was a loving and caring wife, mother and grandmother who adored the time she spent with her family. Esther is survived by two children: Vicki & Ralph “Tom” Dickerson of New Lexington and Peggy & Randy Tahyi of Clarksville, AK; two step-children: Cindy Wilson of Stockport and Johnny Rose of Florida; ten grandchildren: Julie & Tod King, Brian (Matt Beard) Dickerson, Stacey & Chris Clark, Meranda & Shawn Bell, Eddie & Casey Brunton, Holly Brunton, Jack & Kathy Brunton, Mark & Emma Brunton, Angie & Scott Laughhunn and Vance Patterson; numerous great and great-great grandchildren and one sister: Florence Paxson. In addition to her parents, Esther was preceded in death by her husband: Harold Rose; three sons: Ralph Edward Brunton, Charles David Brunton and infant Timothy Michael; six brothers: Leonard, Elzie, Homer, Chester, Donald & Sam Abram; three sisters: Hazel Hill, Laura McCord and Thelma Quinn. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, Friday, October 1, 2021, at the Roberts Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 2, 2021, at the funeral home with Pastor Timothy Poling officiating.
