Evelyn Lucille Stimmel Cotterman, 89, of New Lexington, Ohio passed away at 9:40am on Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at Main Street Terrace in Lancaster, Ohio.
Born August 1, 1928 in Maxville, Ohio to the late F. Seymour Stimmel and Freda Beth Stimmel.
Evelyn was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in New Lexington, Ohio where she served on the Church Council, acted as the Junior Choir Director and served as Organist and Treasurer. Evelyn also worked for decades as the Head Checker at Kroger, where her customers and co-workers fondly knew her as “Evie.” A farm girl at heart, Evie was most happy tending to her roses or her many cats, dogs, goats and horses.
Survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dave (Paula) Cotterman of New Lexington; her daughter, Lisa Cotterman Green of Shepherdstown, West Virginia; her grandson, M. Zane Teeter of Murfreesboro, Tennessee and Zane’s mother, Jeanne Herrin Teeter of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; her granddaughters, Jessica T. Green Miller of San Francisco, California and Rachel Cotterman (Todd) Smith of Middleburg Heights, Ohio; also great-grandsons, Ethan and Andrew Smith of Middleburg Heights, Ohio; her niece and best friend, Evelyn “Puz” Stimmel (Don) Moyer of Zanesville, Ohio.
In addition to her parents, preceded in death by her husband, Jack W. Cotterman; her son, Michael Lawrence Teeter and her brother and sister-in-law, Perl (Beryl) Stimmel.
Calling hours will be held from 2-4pm & 6-8pm on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am on Friday, February 23, 2018 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 201 West Brown Street, New Lexington, Ohio with Pastor Justin VanOrman officiating.
Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery.
