George William “Bill” Bloomfield, 84 of Corning, Ohio passed away Friday, September 8, 2023 at New Lexington Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center, New Lexington, Ohio.
Born June 9, 1939 in Columbus, Ohio to the late George and Vietta Rodgers Bloomfield.
Bill was a loving husband, father and grandfather; a United States Army Veteran; Member of Moxahala United Methodist Church; a 4th generation family farmer; he loved animals and took in many strays; he was a former Pleasant Township Trustee for 20 years.
Lifetime member of John Tague Post #188, American Legion of New Lexington; lifetime member of B.P.O.E. #509, New Lexington; Past Master and member of Peerless Lodge #591, F & AM and a dual member of Masonic Lodge #250 of New Lexington; Grand Council Royal and Select Masons, Hocking Council #39; Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons Logan #75; Scottish Rite, Valley of Cambridge; St. George Commandery #76, Knights Templar, Cable, OH; Carnation Chapter #167, O.E.S. and the Amrou Grotto of Zanesville, Ohio.
Survived by his wife of 62 years, Carolyn Cavinee Bloomfield, whom were married October 21, 1961; daughter, Carol (J.C.) Schaumleffel; grandchildren, Brendon and Dillon; special niece, Betty Manbeck; several nieces and nephews.
In additon to his parents, preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Ghent, Iona McClain and Martha Colleti.
Calling hours will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 PM with Elks services at 7:30pm, American Legion services at 7:45pm, Masonic services at 8pm and O.E.S. services at 8:15pm on Tuesday, September 12, 2023 and 12-1 PM on Wednesday, at Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, September 13, 2023 at the funeral home with Pastor Ruth Messick officiating.
Burial will follow in New Lexington Cemetery with graveside military services by John Tague Post #188, American Legion, New Lexington, Ohio.
