George Amos McCauley, 85, of New Lexington passed away peacefully with his daughter by his side, on August 1, 2024 at New Lexington Healthcare & Rehab in New Lexington, Ohio.
He was born on March 18, 1939, to the late Wilfred and Goldie (Butcher) McCauley.
George was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He retired from Owens-Corning in Newark, Ohio in 1998, after 26 years of employment. He enjoyed farming, country music, movies and spending time with family.
He is survived by three sons Richard (Michelle) McCauley, Darren (Amy) McCauley and Brian (Jennifer) McCauley and one daughter Karen (Brian) Danison. Grandchildren Whitney (Dave) Stenson, Taylor (James) Diskin, Patrick (Kathleen) McCauley, Nicholas Darrah, Olivia McCauley, Mason McCauley, Sophia McCauley, Gavin McCauley, Cory Haberkamp, Ashley (Dustin) Syphers, Brittany (Gary) Pettit, Brooke (Clint) Cannon, Devin Haberkamp, sister Cree Bare, brother Wesley McCauley and many great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Clara McCauley, one grand-daughter Madelyn Paige McCauley, one sister (Mary Moyers) and one brother (Charles McCauley)
Friends may visit from 12:00 pm – 2:00 p.m. Monday August 5, 2024 at Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home at 304 Mill Street New Lexington, Ohio.
A brief grave side service will follow at Community Gardens Cemetery in New Lexington, Ohio.
