Hannelore Gerda (Hammerling) Buckley went home to be with the Lord on December 21, 2023. She was born August 18, 1929, to Konrad and Elizabeth (Buchholz) Hammerling and raised in Bad Godesberg, Germany, where she met and married the love of her life, Charles Buckley and moved to New Lexington, Ohio in 1953. Hannelore was preceded in death by her husband, Charles, and her two sons, Chuckie and Michael. Family and friends will always remember and honor her legacy as a mom, grandma, Meema, friend, sister, and mother-in-law. She retired from Lancaster Glass after working for many years. She was also a long time member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in New Lexington. Hannelore considered others before herself, whether it be comforting a friend or swimming with her grandchildren. She loved her family unconditionally and had a gift for adding value to the lives of others. She also loved her cats, traveling with her husband, playing games, doing puzzles, or simply chatting with others. Visitors to her home were often blessed with good food and a good story. She taught her family to love others, and they will continue to honor her memory by doing so. Her legacy will live on through those she left behind. Hannelore is survived by her children: Belinda (Steve) Lee, Patti (Mike) Heavener, and Sue (Jim) Kraner, and her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be held in her honor at Cornerstone Baptist Church, 215 E. Broadway, New Lexington Ohio on December 26, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. with the funeral service at 12 p.m. Roberts-Winegardner Funeral, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio in charge of arrangements.
