Heather Dawn (Wayt) Smith

Heather Dawn Smith, 51, of West Jefferson, Ohio, formerly of Newark, Ohio passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on October 11, 2021.

She was born June 18, 1970 in Newark, Ohio to Don and Brenda (Fisher) Wayt.

She attended Newark City Schools, and the LCJVS, graduating in 1988. She later attended COTC at Newark and obtained an Associates of Applied Business and Business Management with a Major in Accounting, graduating with Phi Theta Kappa Honors and a 4.0 GPA.

Her favorite pastimes were spending any time she could get with family and friends, sticking her toes in the sand at the beach, and supporting her favorite team - the Cleveland Browns.

Survived by her husband, David Smith; her sons, Wesley (Stephine) Wayt and Lance Larsen; step-children Sera Morris, Olivia Smith, and Noah Smith; parents, Don and Brenda Wayt; one sister, Holly Ann Wayt. She was a beloved aunt to Lorin (Jon) Wilson, Katie (Cody) Rodriguez, Gregory (Roxanne Lee) Dunwoody, and Amelia Wayt. She also leaves several great-nephews and a great-niece along with multitudes of friends to mourn her loss, especially Jay Smith and Stacy Carr.

She was preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Daniel Wayt who passed away September 20, 2014.

Calling hours will be held from 6pm-8pm on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 and from 2pm-3pm on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

Funeral service will be held at 3:00pm  on Thursday at the funeral home with Reverend Daniel Ervin officiating.

Burial will be in New Lexington Cemetery.

Immediately following the burial there will be a pot-luck dinner and gathering of family and friends at the home of her parents at 2529 Panther Drive NE, New Lexington Ohio.
