James Garrett Moore, 94, of Rehoboth, Ohio died at 2:48pm on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Genesis Hospice, Morrison House, Zanesville, Ohio.
Born February 20, 1924 in Harlan County, Kentucky to the late Rank and Bertha Daniels Moore.
Mr. Moore was a retired coal miner from Peabody Coal Company; member of the U.M.W.A. and the Drakes House of Prayer; he was a farmer and loved hunting, gardening and his family.
Survived by his children, Lovie Scott of New Lexington, Roy Moore of TN., Ron (Theresa) Moore of Malta and Wilma (Larry) Cutright of Philo; 20 grandchildren and numerous great and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, preceded in death by his wife, Bessie Stewart Moore on December 11, 2003; son, Lewis Moore; 4 brothers and 1 sister.
Calling hours will be held from 4pm-7pm on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 and from 10am-11am on Wednesday, August 1, 2018 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Eddie Paige officiating.
Burial will follow in Rehoboth Cemetery.
