James Saum

James Thomas Saum, 74, of Junction City, passed away on Tuesday September 26, 2023 at his home.

Born August 8, 1949 in Junction City, Ohio to the late James and Estell Butcher Saum.

James was a retired coalminer from the Peabody coal company.

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Johanna “Jolie” Saum; children, Jamie (Michael) Wheeler and Joyce Jenee Saum; grandchildren, Katelynn Fisher, Shaley Fisher, Erica McConaha, Jaxson Saum, Hudson Saum and Addison Saum; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn Cornell, Mary Pittman and Jeanie Williams; brother, Fred Saum; good friends, Bill Glass, Donald Nunley and Brian Nunley.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his daughters, Kelly Congrove Saum and Jill Saum; brother, Eddie Saum; sisters, Carolyn Saum Litchfield, Ruth Studer and Paul Saum.

Calling hours will be held at Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio on Monday, October 2, 2023 from 10am-12pm.

Burial will be held at 12:30pm at New Lebanon Cemetery in Junction City.
