Jan Michael Blanc

Jan Michael Blanc, 71, of Crooksville, Ohio died Saturday, June 4, 2022 at Genesis-Perry County Medical Center Emergency Department, Somerset, Ohio.

Born December 29, 1950 in Nelsonville, Ohio to the late August and Mary Ellis Blanc.

Jan was a 1968 graduate of Saint Aloysius; U.S. Navy Veteran; member of Ebenezer Baptist Church of Maxville; worked at Peabody Coal Company for 24 years and Olen Corporation in Columbus; he loved fishing, camping, playing with his grandchildren, the ocean and spending time with his family. He was loved dearly by everyone; former little league coach in New Lexington and a Foster Parent in Fairfield County for many years.

Survived by his wife of 49 years, Janice Lucas Blanc; children, Christopher (Cheryl) Blanc, Ryan (Tonia) Blanc and Jennifer (Roger) Holmes; grandchildren, Brandi, Madison, Gabriel, Xavier, Traiven, Nevaeh, Zionnah, Elias, Silas, Mariah, Taylor, Casey, Nicole and Haley; great-grandchildren, Bryan, Posie, Conlan, Zaydan, Kaydan, Raelynn, Remy, Baby Isla due August 1 and Baby Lawson due July 5; sisters, Elissa (Greg) Strohl, Elaine Blanc and Jean Smith; brother, Paul Blanc.

In addition to his parents, preceded in death by his brother, John Blanc; mother-in-law, Irene Lucas; sisters-in-law, Marsha Greene and Vicky Poling.

Calling hours will be held from 6pm-8pm on Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at the funeral home with Pastor Steve Hubbard officiating.

Burial will follow in Community Gardens Cemetery with graveside military services by John Tague Post #188, American Legion of New Lexington.
