Jimmie Lee Driggs, 77, of Lancaster, died Sunday, May 15, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 29, 1945, in Zanesville, the son of Warren Driggs, Jr. and Leanna (Fitzpatrick) Huffman. He married Dona (Stalling) Driggs on April 9, 1975, and was a member of the Anchor Church in New Lexington.
Jimmie served his country as a veteran of the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. He retired from Rockwell International following over 33 years of service. In his leisure time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling and mushroom hunting. He was a loving husband and father and greatly enjoyed the time he spent with his family.
Jimmie is survived by his wife: Dona Driggs; one son: Davey (Tamara) Driggs of Lancaster; one sister-in-law: Carolyn Erwin and several sibling, nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Jimmie was preceded in death by his mother-in-law: Geneva Stalling, who he considered his second mother; one brother-in-law: Paul Erwin and several siblings.
Friends may call Thursday, May 19, 2022, from 2:00 to 8:00 PM, at the Roberts Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, and one hour prior to services from 1:00 to 2:00 PM, at the church. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 PM, Friday, May 20, 2022, at the Anchor Church of New Lexington, 379 Kennedy Drive, New Lexington, with Rev Clifford Burgess, Pastor Mike Thompson and Rev. Richard Young officiating.
Jimmie will be laid to rest in Community Gardens Cemetery, New Lexington with American Legion Post 188 conducting full military honors.
