John A. Mills, Jr.

John A. Mills, Jr. of Junction City died August 21, 2021. He was born March 17, 1957, the son of the late John and Forest Shaeffer Mills.  He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie 2070, where he held many positions including Worthy President.  John retired from Ludowici, where he was a past president of USW #505.  He enjoyed fishing, gardening, and cooking; he was always trying new recipes.

Surviving are his wife, Lois (Stiles) Mills whom he married in 1985, his son John (Heather) Mills; Lois’s children:  Bev (Tom) Lucas, Char (Rich) Baker, Joy (Ron) Stephens, and Jerry (Marci) Gibbon; his loving sisters Florence (Paul) Thomas, Frances Gelzhiser, and Mona Morgan; stepson-in-law Willis Thompson and stepdaughter-in-law LeeAnne Gibbon; brother-in-law John Danielson; grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Darlene, Donna, and Carolyn; stepchildren Lynda Thompson and Tom Gibbon, III.

By John’s request, no calling hours will be observed.  The family will have a private memorial to share stories and a meal together.  The family would like to thank SKLD New Lex, American Legion Post #71 and and Chad Winegardner for their support.
