John D. Rose, 72, of New Lexington, Ohio passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at his home in New Lexington, Ohio, surrounded by his family and friends.
Born May 24, 1952 in New Lexington, Ohio to the late Noel and Margaret Seals Rose.
John served in the United States Army from 1971-1972. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and a 1970 graduate of New Lexington High School. After 30 years of service, John retired from the Ludowici Tile Plant. He loved the Ohio States Buckeyes, fishing and was a lifelong and hard core New Lexington Panthers fan. John was a member of the Southeastern Hunting and Fishing Club.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Carol Johnson Rose; children, Josh (Jena) Rose, Alycia (Jeremy) Causey and Trinae Rose; Step-children, Rick (Debbie) Slack, Bill (Amanda) Talbot. Roxanne Talbot and Steve (Rayla) Tish; 36 grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sisters, Bonnie (Don) Reynolds, Tammy Appleman and Shirley Danielson; brothers, Rodger (Debbie) Rose and Carl Rose; brother-in Law, Ed Appleman; best friend, Tony Martin; his Panther brothers and his pets, Cinnamon, Ginger and Lady; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins; special friends and neighbors, Bill and Debbie Padgett, our special cat, Orea; Mike and Carla Sherlock, BBB.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Chris Hayes; brother-in-law, Daniel Danison and several aunts and uncles.
Calling hours will be held 11am-1pm with funeral services at 1:00pm with Pastor Kristian Santiago officiating on Monday, July 15, 2024 at Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.
Burial will follow at New Lexington Cemetery, New Lexington, Ohio with Graveside Military Services by John Tague Post #188, American Legion of New Lexington.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the funeral home to assist the family with funeral expenses.
