John "Jaron" Young

John “Jaron” Young, 38 of New Lexington, Ohio passed away on Saturday August, 10  2024, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.

He was born June 10, 1986, in Lancaster Ohio to the Late John Young Jr. and Joan E. South.

Jaron was an avid fisherman who love spending time out on the water. He enjoyed grilling out and smoking food on football Saturdays and Sundays. He was a die-hard Bengals and Buckeyes fan and loved to watch them with family and friends on the weekends. He enjoyed watching his son excel in baseball and football. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews whenever he could. Jaron was a student at Columbus State Community College to become an addiction counselor and was striving to better his future.

He is survived by his son Cohen Martin-Young and daughter Nevaeh Smith. Brother Shay (Rachel) South, and Sister Jenee Young Lemaster. Stepbrothers Doug (Holli) Rager and Jon (Tiffany) Rager. Several aunts and uncles: Tim (Krystal) Vandagriff, John (Sheri) Vandagriff, Linda (Tom) Hollett, Lana (Ric) Rush. Many nieces and nephews: Avereigh, Shayde, and Elliott South, Brooke (Trent) and Levi (Kat) Cremeans. Great nieces Finley, Brooklyn, Lylah, Jordan, and Marissa. Girlfriend Bethany Simpson and her sons, Gavin, and Wyatt.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Douglas South.

Jaron will be greatly missed. He was loved and supported by many and has touched the lives of so many of us in one way or another. The family asks that you honor and celebrate Jaron’s life by sporting your favorite Bengals (or your favorite NFL gear) for his funeral as he also will be in his Bengals jersey.

Calling hours will be held 4-6pm on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Monday, August 19, 2024 at the Funeral Home with Pastor Marvin Shipman officiating.

Burial will follow at the New Lexington Cemetery in New Lexington, Ohio.
