Mildred I. Harman, passed away peacefully in her home on Sunday, May 24, 2026.
She was born December 21. 1935 in Morgan County, Ohio to the late Melvin and Mabel Henderson Risberg.
Middy was raised on the farm and later attended Columbus Business School. Her first job was at Downtown Lazarus.
She married John Harman in 1955 and had 3 children. Mom retired from Job and Family services in 2005. In her younger years she loved to sew and bake. She was also a breast cancer survivor.
Middy is survived by her 3 children, Julie Harman, Johnny (Debbie) Harman and Jennie (Bob) Towner; granddaughter, Josie Brown; great-granddaughter, Alison Brown; several nieces, nephews and in-laws.
In addition to her parents, preceded in death by her husband, John R. Harman in 2012; siblings, Melvin (Lucy) Risberg, Martha (Gerald) Niceswanger, Margy (Bob) Mitchell and Marilyn Wright; many in-laws and nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to her caregiver Jenny McKnight for her many years of companionship. We couldn’t have done it without her. Also, thanks to all of her great neighbors in Mellwood for taking time to visit in the garage and bring her treats.
Per Middy’s wishes she will be cremated and have private graveside services in New Lexington Cemetery, New Lexington, Ohio.
